When Trailyard wanted to expand its well-established cycling and outdoor brand into a full-service dining destination, they partnered with the Design/Build team of Facet Architecture and Larson-Danielson Construction to transform an existing structure into a 7,900-square-foot restaurant, café, and bar. The project focused on creating a welcoming, family-friendly environment that complements Trailyard’s reputation as a community gathering space for cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts.
This restaurant renovation architecture blends warm materials, regional influences, and brand-driven design elements inspired by the nearby Indiana Dunes National Park and surrounding trail systems. Interior finishes, color palettes, and spatial flow reinforce Trailyard’s outdoor lifestyle identity, while a spacious exterior deck expands seating and allows guests to enjoy the natural setting. Completed through a collaborative design/build process, the project demonstrates how adaptive reuse restaurant design can strengthen brand identity while creating an engaging hospitality experience.
