Residential Village Training Facility

Valparaiso, IN

When the the MAAC Foundation expanded its nationally recognized first responder training campus, Facet Architecture continued its long-standing partnership by designing Residential Village, a specialized public safety training environment featuring realistic residential-style tactical training structures. Developed as part of the Foundation’s mission to provide immersive emergency response education, the project supports hands-on firefighter, law enforcement, and rescue training scenarios.

The Village includes both single-story and two-story residential training buildings designed to simulate real-world response conditions. The single-story structure features a crawlspace with both interior and exterior access points, while the two-story building incorporates four bedrooms, a full basement, and an attic to support multi-level tactical training exercises. Additional project components include a canopy pavilion designed for outdoor instruction and training coordination, as well as a pre-engineered metal garage classroom that accommodates a wide range of emergency response training programs. This project demonstrates how public safety training facility design can enhance preparedness through realistic, flexible, and purpose-built environments.
